Lamadrid Cabernet Franc 'Reserva'

Lamadrid Cabernet Franc

WHY WE LOVE IT

  • Lamadrid Cabernet Franc is crafted from 100% estate-grown grapes sourced from Vineyard La Suiza in Agrelo, Luján de Cuyo.
  • This vineyard, established in 1995, benefits from clay and sandy loam soil and is nurtured with organic drip irrigation, which contributes to the high quality of the grapes.
  • The vineyard is located at an altitude of 1,000 meters above sea level.
  • This wine has not been clarified, filtered, nor cold stabilized.

Varietals: 100% Cabernet Franc

Elaboration: Hand-picked grapes undergo cold maceration at 10ºC for 5 days, followed by alcoholic fermentation (50% in stainless-steel tanks and 50% in concrete pools) with native yeasts for 26 days at 23-25°C. The process includes 2 daily movements. Malolactic fermentation occurs in French oak barrels for 25 days, and the wine is aged for 12 months in second and third-use French oak barrels.

Tasting Notes: This offers dark, earthy, spicy aromas with ripe plums and blackberries. On the palate, it has a cut of granulated tannin that really holds up well, with a long, detailed, fresh finish.
