Lamadrid Cabernet Sauvignon ‘Reserva’
WHY WE LOVE IT
- Lamadrid Cabernet Sauvignon ‘Reserva’ is sourced from the vineyard Fina La Suiza, Agrelo, Luján de Cuyo.
- This vineyard, established in 1995, benefits from clay and sandy loam soil and is nurtured with organic drip irrigation, which contributes to the high quality of the grapes.
- The vineyard is located at an altitude of 3,215 feet above sea level. Average vine age is 25 years.
Varietals: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon
Elaboration: Hand-picked grapes undergo cold maceration at 10ºC for 5 days, followed by alcoholic fermentation. 60% is carried out in stainless steel tanks and 40% in concrete pools, working with native yeasts for 25 days at temperatures between 25-26°C. The process includes 2 daily movements. Malolactic fermentation occurs in French oak barrels for 20 days, and the wine is aged for 12 months in second and third-use French oak barrels. This wine has not been clarified, filtered, nor cold stabilized.
Tasting Notes: Notes of ripe dark fruit, licorice, vanilla, walnuts and dried herbs. Juicy and vibrant with medium body and fine tannins. Generous fruit character with a flavorful finish.
