PRODUCER BACKGROUND
Mas des Flauzières is a farm which belonged to the Château d’Entrechaux in the Middle Ages. Since 1919, it has been owned and operated by the Benoît family. The old winery building near Vaison la Romaine in southern France is located at the foot of Mont Ventoux, which at 6,263 feet is called the Giant of Provence. In past Tour de France races, the mountain has provided a challenge for even the most experienced riders.
In 2002, Jérôme Benoît, following studies in agronomy and oenology, opened a wine cellar to market his wines. The property extends through several villages from Mont Ventoux to the protection of Dentelles de Montmirail – a small mountain chain. The estate has the advantage of ranging over several appellations, including Gigondas, Vacqueyras, Séguret, Ventoux, and Côtes du Rhône Villages.
