Lunaria Petirsoce Cersasulo Rose BiB

Lunaria Cersasulo d’ Abruzzo BiB

WHY WE LOVE IT

  • Montepulciano is a native grape to this region and this wine comes from vines trained on traditional pergolas (overhead trellises) for what ends up an intense and rich rosé!

Varietal Composition: 100% Montepulciano

Elaboration: The must resulting from grapes soft pressing, after a short contact with the skins at a low temperature, is left in fermentation with its own indigenous yeasts at controlled temperature for about 30 days. Clarification obtained through decantation.

Tasting Notes: Seductive, with a bouquet of roses and lychee and a distinct spice aroma on the finish. Golden yellow in color, spicy in aroma and flavor, reminiscent of yellow roses, cloves, lychees and nutmeg. Luscious and powerful on the palate with an elegant, dry and aromatic finish.

PRODUCER BACKGROUND

Cantina Orsogna is a (very) progressive cooperative of thirty one growers in Italy’s central province of Abruzzo. The company was one of the first of its kind to move to 100% organic farming back in 2002, and they are the largest Biodynamic wine producer in Italy, having been certified by Demeter since 2005. We are currently working with their fruit-forward, sometimes experimental “Lunaria” line which showcases single varietal bottlings from grapes well-suited to the climate of the coastal Terre di Chieti subregion.
