- Established by the Smedley family, Mandala Wines is a five-star James Halliday-rated Yarra Valley winery.
- 100% Estate grown from the Dixon’s Creek vineyard.
Varietal Composition: 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc
Elaboration: Selectively harvested for maximum whole berry retainment. 2 separate batches of Cabernet were vinified in open pot fermenters. Daily hand plunging was utilized for gentle structural and flavor development. One component was pressed early to retain fruit expression and vibrancy. The other component underwent extended maceration to build structure and length into the wine.
Tasting Notes: Aromatically the wine offers red and black currants, red cherry, rasp- berry, tobacco, cedar, and spice. The palate is super smooth, svelte, and sophisticated, with strong red fruit flavors, salted cherries, bright acidity, and fine long tannins.

PRODUCER BACKGROUND
Located in the picturesque Yarra Valley, Mandala Wines have proudly crafted wines of character and finesse since 1999. Established by the Smedley family, Mandala has two sites under vine: one at Dixons Creek, where the Cellar Door complex and glasshouse DiVino Ristorante is based, and the other at Yarra Junction in the Upper Yarra Valley region.
Both sites produce wine varietals that excel in the region; Dixons Creek is home to a mix of classic varieties, while the Yarra Junction vineyard was carefully selected for premium Pinot Noir production. Mandala Wines merges the qualities that make up the balance of ‘the good life’ – the love of family, food and wine; the best recipe for embracing and savoring life.
