Marcelo Pelleriti Signature Cabernet Franc

Marcelo Pelleriti Signature Cabernet Franc

WHY WE LOVE IT

  • Marcelo Pelleriti creates award winning wines in Valle de Uco, Argentina and in Pomerol, France.
  • His two great passions in life are his love for making music and for making fine wines.
  • The vineyard is on loamy-silty of alluvial origin with gravel in the subsoil and calcareous deposits.

Varietal Composition: 100% Cabernet Franc

Elaboration: The harvest is hand-picked and selected through a double moving belt system and vibrating sorting table. The process begins with a 10-day cold maceration at 8 ° C. Then the alcoholic fermentation is done at controlled temperature with hand pigéage. The wine is 80% aged in French oak barrels for 12 months, then 6-month bottle storage.

Tasting Notes: Bright, deep ruby red. Blueberry and dark berry aromas on the nose. Full-bodied, vivid, and balanced on the palate, with some blackberry undertones and an energetic finish.

PRODUCER BACKGROUND

A world-renowned winemaker, Marcelo Pelleriti, has produced vintages for prestigious wineries in France and Argentina. Marcelo Pelleriti Wines is his personal label for his Malbec, as well as his red and white blends. The winery is located in La Consulta, Valle de Uco in the heart of Uco Valley, Mendoza, known as the most important wine region in Argentina and throughout Latin America.

Splitting his time between France and Argentina, he has achieved winemaking acclaim in both countries. Yet, in 2007, his relentless passion drove him to found his namesake label in the same place, where as a child, he and his grandfather would tread grapes to make homemade wine.
