Misty Cove Estate Pinot Gris
WHY WE LOVE IT
- This Estate-grown Pinot Gris is lovingly handcrafted and produced from the Upper Wairau Valley vineyard, an 18 ha site rich in clay soil contents.
- It is here where stony old riverbed soils help create a floral and fleshy wine that truly captures Marlborough’s unique environment.
Varietal Composition: 100% Pinot Gris
Elaboration: The fruit was harvested in the cool of the morning and soaked on skins for 6 hours. Fermented with the unique combination of yeast that produces mouthfeel and texture.
Tasting Notes: “Appealing, fruity with floral, honeysuckle, rose petal, pear, tree fruit and ripe apple flavours. A hint of sweetness is perfectly balanced by fresh acidity to give the wine a crisp, dry and mouth-watering finish.” – Bob Campbell MW, The Real Review

PRODUCER BACKGROUND
If you know us well at Grape you know of our Dutch connections, and everyone in the Dutch wine trade knows Andrew Bailey as the remarkable professional cricket player who built an equally successful wine distribution business while living there during his sporting career. Andrew grew up in New Zealand, has returned home, and farms 242 hectares of vineyard in what he likes to call the misty coves of Marlborough. We’ve never come across this level of quality of Kiwi Sauvignon Blanc for the price.
