WHY WE LOVE IT

  • Sourced from hillside plots planted on “Aubuis” and “Perruches” soil.
  • Both of these soil types warm up easily with the sun and therefore make for a layered, rich Chenin Blanc experience in your glass!

Varietal Composition: 100% Chenin Blanc

Elaboration: The wines for this Cuvée were selected with patience and care, the vinification took place at a low temperature. This method guarantees the fat characteristic and nice roundness of the Chenin Blanc and also corrects any possible bitterness.

Tasting Notes: For this semi dry wine in full youth, there exists a beautiful straw yellow robe. The nose and the mouth are very complimentary seduced by some sweet apple aromas which then goes to lime. A remarkable balance between a soft and very aromatic structure, and the elegant touch of bitterness of the Chenin Blanc grape.

PRODUCER BACKGROUND

Monmousseau is without question the Loire Valley’s most famous producer of sparkling wines. The winery was founded in 1886 with extensive vineyard holdings above ground and 15 kilometers of underground tunnels for fermentation and aging below them. Cremant de Touraine is something of a house specialty, as the were originally responsible for the creation of the Cremant de Touraine category. We are proudly working with a broad array of sparkling wines from Monmousseau, along with still examples of Vouvray and Cabernet Franc.
