Elaboration: Moschioni Pignolo Collli Orientali is harvested by hand. It is aged 12 months in barriques, 48 months in large oak barrels, followed by 12 months of bottle-aging. The color is solid ruby red with purple shades.

Tasting Notes: Moschioni Pignolo Collli Orientali has a deep and fruity nose gorgeously layered with plum jam, blueberry and black cherry as well as floral hints of rosehip and violet. Eventually it displays a delicate and balsamic note of eucalyptus and tobacco leaf. It is masculine, powerful and almost chewable with a backbone loaded with well ripened and quality tannins. An outstanding wine disclosing an endless persistence.

PRODUCER BACKGROUND

In 1989, Michael Michioni took over the Michioni Winery and decided to stake everything on the production of red wines, in an area where while wines are almost exclusively produced. He started producing native vines, almost forgotten, such as the Pignolo, the Scoppiettino, Refosco and Tezzelenghe. The vineyards have adopted organic farming and everything has to be grown and farmed as naturally as possible. The wines produced by the winery are stunning, powerful, and elegant.  Today, Michael is assisted by his son, and two daughters who inherited their father’s passion for producing quality wines.
