Varietal Composition: 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot, 5% Malbec, 3% Petit Verdot, 2% Cabernet Franc
Elaboration: Grapes from select vineyards were hand-harvested and cold-soaked before fermentation in stainless steel tanks. After pressing, the wine aged for 12 months in French and American oak, adding spice and vanilla notes.
Tasting Notes: This is a perfect example of the fruit bounties available on the North Coast to produce superb wines. Aromas of sumptuous, deep, blackberry, blueberry jam, spiced black currant confiture, and black tea on the nose. The flavors on the palate are mulberry, black plums, allspice, red licorice, and dusty tannins on the finish.
