- One of the latest projects from Navigator Wine Collection, the Fly By Chardonnay was made to showcase the complexity of flavor, diversity of terroir, and distinct characteristics of California’s North Coast.
- Fly By Chardonnay is a bright, food-friendly white wine and is known for balancing ripe fruit flavors with crisp acidity at an approachable price point.
Varietal Composition: 100% Chardonnay
Elaboration: Grapes were harvested at peak maturity and gently pressed. The juice was clarified and fermented mostly in stainless steel, with some in French oak for complexity. After partial malolactic fermentation, the Chardonnay was aged on its lees in oak and stainless steel, with regular batonnage for added richness.
Tasting Notes: This Chardonnay displays a brilliant pale gold color, inviting the first sip. On the nose, it exudes a vibrant bouquet of fresh green apple and pear, complemented by subtle hints of citrus zest and a delicate floral note. The palate is crisp and refreshing, with beautifully balanced acidity that elegantly carries the bright fruit flavors. Layers of lemon curd and a hint of melon add complexity, while a gentle oak influence provides a slight creaminess and a whisper of vanilla, enhancing the overall texture without overpowering the wine’s natural freshness.
