Nicolas Millet

The vineyards of Nicolas Millet in the Sancerre Appellation of Loire have been producing outstanding grapes since the 1700s. The brothers Bernard and Pierre Millet acquired the land in 1940 and began a family adventure in winemaking that has thrived and continues to the present day.

After studying wine in the legendary wine-producing region of Beaune, Nicolas Millet (son of François), took over the estate in 2010. Nicolas has continued the practice of respecting the traditions of winemaking while using innovative ideas. This includes organic, biodynamic, and regenerative agriculture farming techniques. The estate received its organic qualification in 2021.

The domain is in the small town of Bué and consists of 14.88 hectares of traditional Sauvignon Blanc, used for their Sancerre Blanc, and 4.37 hectares (8.74 acres) of legendary Pinot Noir for Sancerre Rouge and Rosé wines. The complexity of the soil, ideal placement on the best slopes, and dedication to producing great wines that represent the very best of Sancerre make Nicolas Millet an excellent choice.

The estate is dedicated to a non-interventionist philosophy, respectful of each grape so that the aromatic potential of each varietal is preserved in each bottle. Each plot is vinified separately, without adding sulfur during vatting, and with careful and rigorous monitoring. Every vintage and each bottle represents the very best value in wine.
