Oblivion Central Coast Chardonnay

Oblivion Chardonnay

WHY WE LOVE IT

  • The vineyards are located in the Central Coast of California.
  • This wine sees just a touch of oak to give it some richness but also allows for more of the fruit to come though.

Varietal Composition: 100% Chardonnay

Elaboration: Fermented and aged primarily in stainless steel with a small addition of oak barrels. 100% Malolactic fermentation

Tasting Notes: A lifted nose adorned with an invigorating palate backed by refreshing acidity. Fragrant orange blossoms and ripe pineapple accents are followed by banana notes. It has ample body with a hint of guava and bright citrus. An orange creamsicle finish with a touch of vanilla lingers pleasantly.

Producer Background

In 1995, the Stoller family of Sunridge Nurseries and Dana Merrill of Mesa Vineyard partnered to plant the Chalk Knoll Vineyard in San Ardo. Yes, Paris Valley Road is a very real place, The Chalk Knoll Vineyard is nestled against this stretch of dirt road that meanders along the scenic foothills of the southern Monterey Coast and located only 35 miles in from the Pacific Ocean. These vineyards are rich with history dating back to the 1800’s and complete with a turn of the 19th century adobe, still standing today. Their wines are those of intensity and unique mineral qualities, wines you can drink tonight and for years to come. 2nd generation, Craig Stoller, leads the helm for this family-owned operation.

Oblivion is their 2nd label. Under this label, they have created a Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Zinfandel. The Chardonnay is sourced from the Central Coast. Their Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced in Paso Robles and the Zinfandel is sourced from the San Lucas AVA in Monterey.
