Owen Roe Cabernet Sauvignon DuBrul Vineyard

Owen Roe ‘DuBrul Vineyard’ Cabernet Sauvignon

WHY WE LOVE IT

  • The Owen Roe ‘DuBrul Vineyard’ Cabernet Sauvignon is a single-vineyard wine from Yakima Valley, Washington.
  • It comes from the well-known DuBrul Vineyard, which features mineral-rich soils and cool growing seasons. Ideal conditions for Bordeaux varietals.
  • Low yields enhance the wine’s depth and concentration.
  • This wine has excellent aging potential.

Varietal: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon

Elaboration: This single vineyard 5 barrel blend was cellared in 20% new French Oak barrels for 20 months. Whole berry fermentation and a gentle basket pressing preserves the fruit and improved the mouthfeel of this unctuous wine.

Tasting Notes: A full-bodied wine but with nice perfume and delicious blackberry flavors along with pepper notes and a long nicely tannic finish.

PRODUCER BACKGROUND

Owen Roe winery, located in the Pacific Northwest, is known for its high-quality, terroir-driven wines and deep Irish roots. Founded in 1999 by David O’Reilly and his wife, Angelica, the winery emphasizes minimal intervention and storytelling that reflects Irish culture. Named after 17th-century Irish patriot Owen Roe O’Neill, each wine label narrates a tale from Irish lore and family history.

The estate specializes in outstanding wines from the Willamette and Yakima Valleys, partnering with over a dozen vineyards for the finest fruit. They feature two distinct brands—Growers Guild and Corvidae Wine Co.—to complement the Owen Roe wines.
