Owen Roe Kilmore Pinot Noir

Owen Roe ‘Kilmore’ Pinot Noir

WHY WE LOVE IT

  • Owen Roe ‘Kilmore’ Pinot Noir is a medium-bodied Pinot Noir from Oregon’s Yamhill-Carlton District, in Willamette Valley.
  • The wine’s character is influenced by the ancient sedimentary sandy soils of the area.

Varietal: 100% Pinot Noir (95% Yamhill Carlton, 5% Dundee Hills Vineyards)

Tasting Notes: Nuanced and delicate, offering wild red berries, hibiscus tea and fresh sage with subtle earthy undertones. The medium-bodied palate shows a dusty and chalky texture, with fine tannins and vibrant acidity leading to a persistent, mineral-laced finish. Drink or hold.

PRODUCER BACKGROUND

Owen Roe winery, located in the Pacific Northwest, is known for its high-quality, terroir-driven wines and deep Irish roots. Founded in 1999 by David O’Reilly and his wife, Angelica, the winery emphasizes minimal intervention and storytelling that reflects Irish culture. Named after 17th-century Irish patriot Owen Roe O’Neill, each wine label narrates a tale from Irish lore and family history.

The estate specializes in outstanding wines from the Willamette and Yakima Valleys, partnering with over a dozen vineyards for the finest fruit. They feature two distinct brands—Growers Guild and Corvidae Wine Co.—to complement the Owen Roe wines.
