Owen Roe Red ‘Yakima Valley’
WHY WE LOVE IT
- The grapes are grown in the Yakima Valley AVA of Washington State, a region known for producing significant percentages of Washington’s best Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
- 80% of the fruit was sourced from Owen Roe’s organically farmed estate vinyards, with the balance sourced from DuBrul and Red Willow Vineyards.
Varietal: 46% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot, 21% Cabernet Franc, 1% Malbec
Elaboration: This 80 barrel blend was cellared in 6% new French Oak barrels for 20 months.
Tasting Notes: A full-bodied red with cassis and herbs on the nose with bold blackberry and spice flavors with a massive long tannic finish.

PRODUCER BACKGROUND
Owen Roe winery, located in the Pacific Northwest, is known for its high-quality, terroir-driven wines and deep Irish roots. Founded in 1999 by David O’Reilly and his wife, Angelica, the winery emphasizes minimal intervention and storytelling that reflects Irish culture. Named after 17th-century Irish patriot Owen Roe O’Neill, each wine label narrates a tale from Irish lore and family history.
The estate specializes in outstanding wines from the Willamette and Yakima Valleys, partnering with over a dozen vineyards for the finest fruit. They feature two distinct brands—Growers Guild and Corvidae Wine Co.—to complement the Owen Roe wines.
