Paritua Wines Stone Paddock Sauvignon Blanc

Paritua Stone Paddock Sauvignon Blanc

WHY WE LOVE IT

  • The Sauvignon Blanc is grown on the Bridge Pa Triangle Vineyard.
  • The deep red gravel soils of the vineyard allow for good drainage and ripening. Intensive canopy management provides a good balance between varietal herbaceous notes as well as ripe, tropical characters.

Varietal Composition: 100% Sauvignon Blanc

Elaboration: Machine harvested grapes were destemmed and crushed to press. Stainless steel fermentation to maintain freshness. After fermentation the wine was left on yeast lees for 3 months, with regular stirring of the lees. Our focus is on clean varietal flavors, fresh fruit and richness on the palate.

Tasting Notes: On the nose is Guava, passionfruit, and tropical notes, with hints of lemongrass, lime and floral undertones. The palate is refreshing with lively passionfruit fruit, lychee and white flesh peach. A plush mid palate with crisp nettle and lime citrus finish.

PRODUCER BACKGROUND

Paritua is located in the heart of the acclaimed Bridge Pa Triangle wine region of Hawke’s Bay, on the East Coast of New Zealand’s North Island. The name Paritua refers to the Paritua Stream, which meanders gently through the vineyard. Paritua means the meandering stream above the ancient river.

The winery was founded by an American couple and planting of the vineyard began in 2003. The choice of rootstock was inspired by the wines of Burgundy and Bordeaux. In 2011, the winery was sold to an international company, which is committed to maintaining the high quality Paritua is known for.
