Quinta do Vesúvio
Quinta do Vesúvio is a prestigious estate in the Douro Valley, famous for its Vintage Ports. Using traditional foot treading in granite lagares—a practice that has been in place since 1827—the estate emphasizes the importance of heritage in winemaking.
Founded by António Bernardo Ferreira and later flourishing under Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira in the 19th century, Quinta do Vesúvio was purchased by the Symington family in 1989. They have continued the estate’s legacy while blending innovation with tradition.
The vineyards, established in the 1970s, thrive at altitudes of up to 500 meters, producing wines known for their depth and complexity. Today, Quinta do Vesúvio honors its rich history with a historic winery and time-honored production methods, crafting exceptional wines that reflect the unique terroir of the Douro Valley.
