‘WhaleSong’ Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay
WHY WE LOVE IT
- WhaleSong Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay is an exceptional, limited-production white wine, crafted by winemaker Matthias Pippig.
- Sourced from the prestigious John Sebastiano Vineyard, just 22 miles from the Pacific Ocean at elevations of 539 to 919 feet, this cool-climate wine beautifully captures the region’s distinct terroir.
Varietal Composition: 100% Chardonnay
Elaboration: Fermentation occurs in barrels using 100% native yeasts. 300 and 400-liter seasoned French oak barrels are utilized, along with stainless steel, to enhance the wine’s complexity and preserve its character.
Tasting Notes: A million flowers unfolding, North-African spice market, pear orchard, the sea. Energy is like a stone skipping across a calm body of water.
