Sanquis WhaleSong Sonoma Coast Chardonnay

‘WhaleSong’ Sonoma Coast Chardonnay

WHY WE LOVE IT

  • WhaleSong Sonoma Coast Chardonnay is an exceptional, limited-production white wine that is highly allocated.
  • It is crafted by winemaker Matthias Pippig and sourced from Five Wells Vineyard, located just 14 miles from the Pacific Ocean at elevations between 300 and 450 feet.
  • Due to the harsh maritime conditions, the tightly spaced vines produce less than 2 tons of fruit per acre, resulting in a dense flavor profile balanced by vibrant, electric acidity.

Varietal Composition: 100% Chardonnay

Elaboration: Fermented in barrels using 100% native yeasts. Barrels from 300L and 400L seasoned French oak and stainless steel were used. The wine was barrel-aged for 18 months, with no filtering or fining applied.

Tasting Notes: Fragrance is reminiscent of a Paris pastry shop, the mysterious perfume of a dark-haired woman, apricot compote, and grass drying in the sun. The energy of a warm, sensual smile.
