  • This completely dry Pinot Gris is grown at the Myers family’s Blacktail Vineyard in Oregon’s renowned Willamette Valley AVA.

Varietal Composition: 100% Pinot Gris

Elaboration: Cold fermentation took place after the addition of selected yeasts. Aged in small batch stainless steel tanks. Fined and filtered at the winery prior to bottling.

Tasting Notes: Bright stone fruits, ripe melon and floral tones represent the aroma of this Pinot Gris. A light body with hints of citrus and mineral tones preface the crisp, bright and smooth finish.

PRODUCER BACKGROUND

Siltstone Wines was established in 2000 by the Myers family in Oregon’s renowned winegrowing region, the Willamette Valley. They produce authentic Oregon wine with their estate grown Pinot noir, Pinot gris, Sauvignon blanc and Rosé of Pinot noir. All of the Myers family vineyards are farmed Certified Sustainable. Joel Myers first planted grapes in the 1960s’ and has been farming premium wine grapes professionally since 1980 with his wife Louise. They carry on that tradition today with their family.

Their sons Joey and David continue to work in the Oregon Wine industry after finding their own niches within the dynamic field. Their son John helped develop the family business and is now studying law while his wife Melissa is studying Public Health after working many vintages on the crush pad. David’s wife, Heather, manages the tasting room and marketing for Siltstone. The Myers produce about 1,500 cases of wine under the Siltstone label from Guadalupe Vineyard, Blacktail Vineyard, and Owl Ranch Vineyard. A limited quantity of their premium Pinot noir label, J. Myers & Sons, is blended from select barrels after exceptional vintages.
