Six Peaks Pinot Noir Laurel

Six Peaks Pinot Noir – Laurel Vineyard

WHY WE LOVE IT

  • Estate-grown Pinot Noir, harvested from the Laurel Vineyard.
  • The fruit comes from 40-year-old vines planted by John and Lynn.

Varietal Composition: 100% Pinot Noir

Elaboration: The Laurel Estate Vineyard was established in the heart of the Willamette Valley and is now one of its premier sub-appellations with a perfect southern exposure for wine making.

Tasting Notes: A mature and complete wine driven by fermentative aromas. Leather, spice, chocolate, and black cherry. The fruit for this wine comes from the 40-year-old Laurel vineyard. A thoughtful blend of Pommard and Dijon clones add to the wine’s layered complexity. Round chewy tannins with a lingering finish.

PRODUCER BACKGROUND

John and Lynn Albin planted their first vineyard in 1981, the Laurel Vineyard located in Laurelwood AVA, OR. This estate vineyard sits atop Bald Peak, which offers a stunning panoramic view of five cascade mountains. Add up all of these peaks and you have 6 Peaks Winery. The Albin’s bring with them many decades of experience in viticulture and winemaking in the Pacific Northwest. Their second label, Lorelle, became an immediate hit when we first brought it in and we jumped at the chance to carry their original winery, Six Peaks Winery.
