Susana Balbo Nosotros Malbec

Susana Balbo “Nosotros” Malbec

WHY WE LOVE IT

  • The Nosotros line celebrates the collective efforts in crafting this wine from a single nomadic vineyard.
  • Each bottle is unique, representing the winery’s “selection of selections.”
  • The grapes are sourced from Gualtallary, Valle de Uco, Mendoza, at an elevation of 1,300 meters (4,265 feet).
  • Nosotros is a distinguished 100% Malbec known for its power, balance, and refined structure.

Varietal: 100% Malbec

Elaboration: Grapes are hand-harvested and undergo a double selection. After four days of cold maceration, fermentation occurs in 6,500-liter oak casks using wild yeasts and the push-down technique, at temperatures of 28° to 30°C (82° to 90°F). Following fermentation, the wine macerates for an additional 30 days, with malolactic fermentation in the barrels. It is then aged for 16 months in 80% new and 20% second-use French oak barrels.

Tasting Notes: A wine of an excellent aging potential that displays aromas of cassis and blueberries and a hint of floral notes. It possesses an outstanding structure, with medium grain, extremely long tannins. Its natural acidity provides it with great freshness.
