Susana Balbo ‘Signature’ Malbec
WHY WE LOVE IT
- This Malbec is one of the most cherished wines from the winery. It is crafted using grapes grown in Paraje Altamira, Valle de Uco, Mendoza, where the vines thrive at an average elevation of 1,050 meters (3,770 feet) above sea level.
- This high altitude contributes to the wine’s exceptional quality.
- The Malbec was aged for 13 months in French oak barrels.
- Intense yet approachable, this wine beautifully showcases the power, elegance, and enjoyment that Argentine Malbec has to offer.
Varietal: 96% Malbec, 4% Petit Verdot
Elaboration: Hand-harvested and hand-selected bunches were fermented at a maximum temperature of 28°C (82°F) using selected yeasts. The grapes were in contact with the skin for 35 days and preserved on lees with battonage. The wine was aged for 13 months in French oak, with 30% being new and 70% second-use.
Tasting Notes: A wine of an Intense, ruby red color. It displays aromas of blueberries and blackberries and notes of flowers and licorice. Intense but gentle at the same time, with an elegant finish and round tannins.
