Susana Balbo ‘Signature’ Rosé

WHY WE LOVE IT

• This rosé is a great example of teamwork by Susana and her children, José and Ana. They created a fresh, aromatic rosé “a la Provencal” using techniques similar to white winemaking, including early picking and gentle pressing for a light pink-salmon color.
• This rosé originates from the renowned Valle de Uco region, in Mendoza.
• The vines thrive at an average elevation of 1,050 m/3,445 ft above sea level, which contributes to the wine’s exceptional quality.

Varietal: 60% Malbec, 40% Pinot Noir

Elaboration: The grapes were hand-harvested and then refrigerated at 6°C (42.8°F). Malbec grapes were pressed gently along with the bunches, while the Pinot Noir grapes underwent a 4-hour maceration process during pressing. After fining, fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks using selected yeasts at a temperature between 54-57°F for a duration of 20 days.

Tasting Notes: A rosé with an elegant salmon color. On the nose, it has subtle floral notes with delicate aromas of dried fruits. On the palate, its freshness and juicy acidity blend perfectly with flavors of currants and strawberries. It is a wine of great structure and balance that can be enjoyed on its own or with food, due to its pleasant tension on the palate.
