WHY WE LOVE IT

  • Born from a blend of Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, it is aged for one year in French Allier barriques and 15 hl Slavonian oak barrels.
  • A high quality wine which, thanks to the combination of French vines and the Ilcinese territory, offers the consumer a different and original drink, with new flavors, yet always characterized by the typicality of the Sesta area.
  • Ruby red color with lively violet reflections. Bouquet: hints of red pulp. Harmonious, soft, enveloping and structured taste.

Varietal Composition: 40% Cabernet franc, 40% Merlot, 20% Sangiovese Grosso

Elaboration: Spurred cordon vine training. Manual dry pruning, manual de-stemming and dissolving, manual bunch thinning, manual grape harvesting. Soft pressing of the bunches, maceration duration 15-18 days, alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in steel vats with automatic temperature control. Aged for one year in French Allier barriques and 15 hl Slavonian oak barrels.

Tasting Notes: Deep ruby ​​red in color, with lively purplish reflections, the nose is intense with hints of red pulp and pleasant spice notes. The taste is enveloping and structured, balanced by the right freshness and velvety tannins.

PRODUCER BACKGROUND

Since 1995 the winery has been managed by Giovanni Ciacci, who has since been joined by his children Andrea and Francesca in the areas of business and agronomic management. For the Ciacci family, traditional ageing in big oak barrels and renewed vineyard management based on climatic changes and in favor of the territory constitute the best strategy to obtain wines that best express the territory of Montalcino.

Their property extends over about 200 ha including 30 ha of vineyards of which 13.07 ha are registered to D.O.C.G. to produce Brunello di Montalcino, 7. 4 ha to Rosso di Montalcino D.O.C. and 10.86 ha are registered to S. Antimo D.O.C.. The remaining area is mostly covered by olive groves, 45 ha and grain, 55 ha.
