Tiare Ribolla Gialla Collio

WHY WE LOVE IT

  • A White wine from Friuli-Venezia Giulia,
  • Ribolla Gialla is an ancient white variety from northern Italy, bordering Slovenia. Rarely seen elsewhere.
  • This wine is enjoyably light in body and offer fruity, floral aromas, as well as bright acidity.

Varietal Composition: 100% Ribolla Gialla

Elaboration: Tiare Collio Gialla Collio goes through a short maceration period, soft pressing, static decanting and fermentation in stainless steel tanks. It’s temperature is monitored and fining lies until March.

Tasting Notes: It has a lively straw yellow color and a fruity and pleasant aroma. The flavor is lovely and harmonious with excellent sapidity (the presence of mineral salts in wine).

PRODUCER BACKGROUND

Tiare Vineyards estate consists of just 30 acres of vineyard land that enjoy Collio’s unique position between the Adriatic Sea and the Alps, which are just 35 or 40 miles apart. The two influences make beautiful aromatic wines with driven minerality and salinity from grapes planted in ponca—Friuli’s unique combination of brittle fossil-laden marl and sandstone. These soils evoke texture and vibrancy in the glass, a pure liveliness preserved by aging in stainless steel tanks.
