Twill Cellars Eola-Amity Hills Pinot Noir
WHY WE LOVE IT
- This Pinot Noir is sourced from Bracken Vineyard located at the top of the Eola Bench in the Western Eola-Amity Hills AVA.
- The Eola-Amity Hills cuvée is a selection of barrels from our Bracken lot that showcases a lighter, racier profile then the single vineyard bottling, which highlights more density and poise.
- Bracken benefits from facing west lining up in the path of the Van Duzer Corridor. Facing west is a unique vantage point for vineyards, and a risky one at lower elevations tucked deeper in the valley. Wind also plays a role in firming up the skins, helping phenolics develop in structure and taste.
- Deep seated red fruits, with brooding footnotes of earth and sweet spice are common in the Pinot Noir.
- Organic and Biodynamic practices, Dry-farmed.
Varietal Composition: 100% Pinot Noir
Elaboration: Fermented in 2 ton lots for 3 and a half weeks. Some pump-overs and punchdowns for thoughtful extraction. 100% destemmed fruit. Raised in 1 2nd fill puncheon, and 1 neutral puncheon for 11 months. Unfined. Unfiltered.
Tasting Notes: Unctuous raspberry, cola and dried rose. Aromas are lively and warm, and flavors are tense and pronounced.

PRODUCER BACKGROUND
Twill Cellars is located in West Linn, Oregon, just 30 minutes south of downtown Portland. Yet it might as well be a world away. In 2000, Molly and Darrel Roby (along with their two Bernese Mountain dogs, Mica and Saylor) began their journey as growers by planting a 2.7 acre vineyard.
Chris Dickson, following studies in Psychology and Biology, spent years working for several well-regarded winemakers around the world. Jonathan Sundy, an artist who knew Chris in high school in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, contributes his talents to the project.
