Hermanos Hernáiz ‘El Jardin de La Emperatriz ‘ Tinto
WHY WE LOVE IT
- Viñedos Hermanos Hernáiz El Jardín de La Emperatriz Tinto is an elegant Crianza-style red wine from Rioja Alta.
- Produced in Baños de Rioja, this wine highlights the quality of its vineyards, which are characterized by sandy loam soils mixed with white pebbles.
- El Jardín de La Emperatriz Tinto has a balanced and fruit-forward flavor profile.
Varietals: 81% Tempranillo, 19% Garnacha
Elaboration: The grapes are hand-harvested. They are then fermented in steel and concrete vats. The wine is aged for 15 months in French and American oak barrels.
Tasting Notes: “Spiced berries and plums with hints of white pepper and chocolate, framed by a structured, medium-to-full-bodied palate marked by tight, firm tannins. It has a long and sturdy finish right now. Give it two more years. Try from 2027.” -Zekun Shuai, jamessuckling.com
