WeatherEye Estate “High Tide” Red Blend
WHY WE LOVE IT
- WeatherEye Estate High Tide is a debut field blend from the top of Red Mountain in Washington’s Columbia Valley.
- Made from Grenache, Mourvèdre, Tempranillo, and Graciano grown side by side on the mountain, showcasing the natural interplay of the varieties.
- Sourced from WeatherEye Vineyard’s high-elevation, wind-swept slopes in the Red Mountain AVA, planted in basalt and dune sands at 290 to 436 meters above sea level.
- A vivid, finely etched expression of the site that delivers both opulence and precision.
Varietals: 39% Grenache, 31% Mourvèdre, 22% Tempranillo, 8% Graciano
Elaboration: The grapes are fully destemmed and co-fermented, then aged 18 months in 60% new French oak.
Tasting Notes: The aromatics open with spice-poached plum, black raspberry, and black cherry layered with cedar, clove, toasted sage, licorice, and subtle savory notes of dried venison and fresh leather. On the palate, it is round, supple, and seamlessly textured, showing lifted red and blue fruit purity wrapped in polished oak spice and finishing long with fine tannins and a spicy, savory resonance.
