WeatherEye Vineyards Estate Marsanne

WHY WE LOVE IT

  • WeatherEye Estate Marsanne is a highly regarded white wine from Washington’s Red Mountain, known for its rich, structured profile.
  • Grown on steep basalt slopes, it exhibits a distinct “stony” character and an energetic mouthfeel.
  • This age-worthy wine is considered one of the region’s finest.
  • It is crafted by Todd Alexander, noted for his expertise with Rhône varietals.

Varietals: 86% Marsanne,14% Roussanne

Elaboration: Fully destemmed, 8 days skin contact, aged 14 months on the lees in clay and 30% new French oak.

Tasting Notes: A bouquet of honeyed tropical fruits, orange marmalade, crushed stone, and white flowers. Full-bodied, concentrated, and beautifully textured, with a blockbuster-styled, salty finish, reminiscent of great Hermitage Blanc.
