WeatherEye Vineyards Estate Roussanne
WHY WE LOVE IT
- The WeatherEye Estate Roussanne is a highly acclaimed, rich, and intensely aromatic white wine from Washington State’s Columbia Valley.
- Crafted from unique high-density north-facing vines just behind the ridgeline at 1,170 feet on the rocky slopes of Red Mountain, this rare bottling (about 75 cases) is celebrated for its remarkable depth, viscosity, and aging potential.
Varietals: 73% Roussanne, 7% Clairette Blanche
Elaboration: The fruit was whole-cluster pressed, settled for 28 hours, then aged 14–15 months in French oak (30% new), along with amphora and neutral oak, before being bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Tasting Notes: Aromas span fresh flowers, stone fruit, citrus zest, tropical notes, honeyed richness, and subtle oak spice, while the palate is full and round with vibrant acidity and a long, mineral-driven finish. 75 cases produced. Drink 2026–2034.
