Tesch Krone Riesling

Tesch Krone Riesling

WHY WE LOVE IT

  • Mixed soil, weathered red sandstone and light loam. Limited water access so the fruit is stressed. All creating an expressive fruit and great complexity.
  • The Krone vineyard in the town of Laubenheim lies directly next to the LÖHRER BERG.
  • The steep southeast slope of the KRONE is characterized by a mix of light and coarse soils from decalcified loess and weathered sandstone that lend its Rieslings a highly complex character. Dramatic temperature extremes due to the exposure to the westerly winds, most pronounced at night, give the wine a somewhat edgy disposition with a pronounced citrus aroma.

Varietal Composition: 100% Riesling

Elaboration: Deep roots, old vines, environmentally friendly viticulture and careful harvesting of the grapes by hand. Gentle, artisan aging and bottling in particularly sustainable packaging in the cellar. The screw cap protects the wine perfectly and enables reliable maturation of the wine.

Tasting Notes: Expressive fruit and great complexity. Edgy disposition with a pronounced citrus aroma. The Krone terroir produces Rieslings that have a highly complex character.

Current owner, Dr. Martin Tesch, represents the eleventh generation of his family to lead the business.
