At Winkler-Hermaden, wine is not just a product; it tells a story of care, history, and a connection with the earth. Established in 1918 in southeastern Austria’s Styrian Vulkanland region, the winery embodies family spirit and tradition. Since 1981, master winemaker Georg Winkler-Hermaden has emphasized organic and regenerative farming, allowing the unique volcanic terroir to shape each vintage with minimal intervention.

With 38 hectares of vineyards featuring 21 grape varieties—especially Sauvignon Blanc and Traminers—the winery showcases its distinct volcanic soils. The family’s history is echoed in their 350-year-old Long Cellar, where wines age in small oak barrels from their own forest.

Today, Georg’s sons—Christof, Thomas, and Wolfgang—carry on this legacy, focusing on producing complex, long-lasting wines that reflect their extraordinary landscape.
