Thanisch Riesling Trocken
WHY WE LOVE IT
- This Riesling comes from the steep slopes surrounding the picturesque towns of Bernkastel and Kues in the middle Mosel.
- The grapes are hand harvested and the wine aged in stainless steel.
Varietal Composition: 100% Riesling
Elaboration: Manual labor is necessary all year round from the cultivation of the vines to harvest. The valuable combination of steep slopes, soil characteristics and climate presents our vines with the best possible conditions for development.
Tasting Notes: Perfumed and lemony fresh, this dry style Riesling has great precision. Ripe apricot and peach notes combined with aromas of meadow flowers exude from the glass. There is a purity to the crisp and concentrated palate and the lingering finish grips with slate minerality.

PRODUCER BACKGROUND
The Thanisch family has cultivated wine since the year 1636 and can look back on a history covering almost 400 years. Today the estate is run as a family business in the 11th generation, of which the last four generations were women. The first woman leading the estate was Katharina Thanisch, who was one of the VDP founding members in 1910. Today the estate is managed by Sofia Thanisch. The label is a very Classic Art Nouveau Etiquette from 1901 and depicts the estate, the town of Bernkastel and the Doctor vineyard in the background.
