We were lucky enough to spend a beautiful sunny day in Seattle with Christina Thanisch of @wwe.dr.h.thanisch.vdp on the last day of her vacation. Christina represents the fifth generation of female leadership at her family’s winery in the Mosel. Her Rieslings are handcrafted in the traditional manner and express the nervy acidity and the soul of the vineyards, including the famed Doctor Vineyard that rises above the town of Bernkastel.

There is a new Barolo in town.
We are now officially carrying the Matteo Ascheri Barolo.
Ascheri is a family from La Morra that originated in the early 19th century.
They established their winery in the town of Bra in 1880.
They also recently added vineyards in Serralunga D’Alba, Verduno and obviously Bra.
Ascheri style is very harmonious and very approachable upon release retaining the elegance and power we all know from Nebbiolo.
Matteo Ascheri is also currently the president of the Barolo and Barbaresco consortium, being fully devoted to promote Piedmont and all the Nebbiolo producers.
Now available the 2017 vintage in California, Washington and Oregon.
