Bouchard Père et Fils Aloxe Corton Rouge
WHY WE LOVE IT
- This appellation on the north side of the Côte de Beaune is situated at the foot of the Corton mountain where the vine has been cultivated for over 2000 years.
- It gained its renown at the time of Charlemagne who was very fond of the wines from this “terroir”.
Varietal Composition: 100% Pinot Noir
Elaboration: Purchased grapes are made through long-term grower contracts, who are committed to respecting Bouchard Père & Fils’ strict quality control. Grapes are harvested manually. Vatting of the wine last for 2 weeks and matured for 10-12 months in 20-30% new French oak barrels.
Tasting Notes: Notes of berry fruit on the nose. Originating in the Côte de Beaune but located on the border with the Côte de Nuits, this wine is an interesting blend of structure and elegance.
