Buon Natale Italian Christmas White

Buon Natale Italian Christmas White

WHY WE LOVE IT

  • The Italian Christmas White grapes come from the Delle Venezie appellation where the terroir is limestone and clay.
  • The grapes are sourced from a range of private growers and cooperatives.
  • All areas of production, from grape selection through to vinification, maturation, blending and bottling are meticulously overseen by Araldica’s Claudio Manera and Lella Burdese.
  • Vegan Friendly. Screw cap.

Varietal Composition: Pinot Grigio (Pinot Gris)

Elaboration: The grapes were hand harvested during the first 2 weeks of September. The grapes were crushed and gently pressed, and the juice was allowed to settle and clarify before cool fermentation via selected yeast at 16 to 18C in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine was bottled after a period of 3 to 6 months aging on fine lees in stainless steel tanks. Unoaked.

Tasting Notes:  This Pinot Grigio & Garganega blend shows plenty of citrus aromas with lightly honeyed fruit and fresh lemon flavors on the palate. Simply chill the bottle, crack it open, and savor as you let yourself forget about all that Christmas wrapping.

PRODUCER BACKGROUND

In 1954, in the village of Castel Boglione in the Piedmont region of northwestern Italy, don Carlo Montrucchio and a group of 50 wine producers founded a cooperative society called the Antica Contea di Castelvero, the ancient name of Castel Boglione. This is still the current headquarters of the Araldica Group, makers of Italian Christmas Wine, along with several premium Italian wines.

The goal of the cooperative was, and still is, to add value to its members’ labor by sharing their experience, resources, and ideas. Quality Sangiovese, Pinot Grigio, and Moscato grapes are sourced from a range of private growers and cooperatives to make the three varieties of Italian Christmas Wine.
