Champagne Henriot Brut Souverain
WHY WE LOVE IT
- Henriot’s flagship bottling, this elegant release is driven by top level Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs and Pinot Noir from Montagne de Reims.
- More than 25 crus are assembled, including the village crus of Mesnil sur Oger, Oger, Avize, Cramant, Chouilly, Aÿ, Verzy, Verzenay, Beaumont, Sillery, and Mailly Champagne.
- The wine benefits from an addition of up to 20% reserve wines from a number of different vintages in the Champagne Henriot library – This is one of the largest percentages of reserve wines you’ll find in a NV Brut.
Varietal Composition: 50% Chardonnay, 45% Pinot Noir, 5% Pinot Meunier
Elaboration: Benefits from the addition of 30% reserve wines. A symbol of the rich, elegant style of Champagne Henriot’s wines. Produced from 2/3 Premier and Grand Cru vineyards. Aged for 4 years.
Tasting Notes: This Champagne charms with its nose of white flowers, citrus fruits and a balanced harmonious palate.
NV – 91 Wine Spectator
Founded in Reims in 1808, Champagne Henriot celebrated its 200th birthday in 2008; joining the very exclusive circle of independent 200-year-old family owned and managed champagne houses. Over the years Champagne Henriot has cultivated a unique style of its own, guided only by the pursuit of the rich, pure expression of Chardonnay. Strict grape requirements enable Henriot to highlight the minerality and precision of their vineyards, while the use of malolactic fermentation, a high percentage of reserve wines in their cuvées and extended lees aging result in wines of great expression, elegance, and depth.“Time is our ally and patience our secret” says Joseph Henriot. “They are the fundamental elements to our success.”
