Elaboration: Château Bizard Grignan-les-Adhémar Montagne de Raucoule comes from the AOC Grignan-les-Adhemar appelation. The terroir is limestone scree on blue marls. The wine is aged in concrete vats for the Grenache and French oak barrels for the Syrah.
Tasting Notes: Deep magenta red color with purple glints. Aromatic and rich, expresses scents of black fruits – blackberry, sloe, cherry – underscored by notes of liquorice. Retro-olfaction of ripe fruits and spices. Well-structured, fina and coated tannins. A very pleasant wine, cajoling and mellow.

PRODUCER BACKGROUND
The roots of Château Bizard trace back to 1862 when Eugène Missol “the grandfather of the grandfather” of the current owners, planted vineyards on the high part of the hills to the south of the small village of Allan in France’s southern Rhône Valley. This location has been renowned as a terroir since the 17th century, however, the history of wine here goes back much further. The largest vineyard in antiquity was located nearby between 50 and 80 AD.
Since 1980, Marc and Marie Lépine, Eugène’s direct descendants, have kept the family’s passion for winemaking alive and thriving. The winery falls within the Grignan-les-Adhémar appellation, created in 2010 to replace the old appellations of Côtes du Rhône and Coteaux du Tricastin.
