Clos Henri Petit Clos Sauvignon Blanc

Clos Henri Petit Clos Sauvignon Blanc

  • Petit Clos, translated from French to mean ‘small enclosed vineyard’, captures the vibrancy of the estate. Petit Clos wines come from younger vines with a mixture of soil types.
  • Organically grown.

Varietal Composition: 100% Sauvignon Blanc

Elaboration: The wine was fermented in stainless steel tanks to retain fruit purity and flavor; it was then aged on fine yeast lees for three months. Lees stirring over this time allows the wine to stabilize naturally, enabling us to fine the wine only once before a light, non-sterile filtration. This extended lees contact also helps the wine to gain roundness and texture.

Tasting Notes: A welcoming and fine hint of citrus (lime, grapefruit) and golden kiwi on the nose. Fresh, well-balanced and round on the palate offering a rich, dense and juicy mouthfeel dominated by exotic fruits, with a pleasant mineral note.

Nestled under the southern foothills of Marlborough’s Wairau Valley, Clos Henri is the wine estate meticulously established and organically run by the famous Sancerre wine growing family of Henri Bourgeois. From the three different soil types of the estate, the family uses the best of French and New World winegrowing techniques to capture the essence of Marlborough’s intense character and reveal the identity and depth of the Clos Henri terroir. Textural and elegant, these wines are quite a bit different from the New Zealand “norm.”
