Yves Cuilleron Viognier

Cuilleron IGP Viognier

WHY WE LOVE IT

  • The vines are grown in the commune of Chavanay, called the “Vignes d’à coté.”
  • The soil is granitic and alluvial. Naturel cover cropping to avoid erosion.
  • No insecticides with respect to soil and vine balance, few treatments (depending on weather and the necessary) and small amount of organic fertilizer. Vigor and yield control, leaf-thinning and green harvesting to promote grape ripening.
  • Drink young, up to 3-4 years.

Varietal Composition: 100% Viognier

Elaboration: Plot harvest and vinification. The grapes are hand- picked; then sorted and left to settle in the cellar. Alcoholic and malolactic fermented with native yeasts in temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats. Maturing : 6-7 months on lees in barrels and cask.

Tasting Notes: Fleshy and greedy wine. Typical nose of the viognier with ripe yellow fruits (apricot, nectarine) with violet touch. Juicy and fresh on the palate with an acidulous finish.
