Spanish wine, with its 3,000-year-old heritage, has leaped forward into the 21st Century with Galea Drinks. David Hidalgo, founder of Galea Drinks, was born and raised in Spain. His family was in the food and wine business and David caught the passion for wine at an early age. From the time when Phonecians planted grapes around 1,100 BC, to now, the Spanish wine industry has exploded with new wines, wineries, brands, and regions.

David owned a successful wine distribution company, which he eventually sold after deciding to move to the United States. While enjoying a second passion – aviation – he formed a Spanish wine import business, based in Miami, Florida.

His years of experience in the wine business had taught him the many ways that each variety of grape can be elaborated while maintaining the essence of the fruit. He is also a savvy marketer and discerned the changing tastes of U.S. wine lovers, creating an opportunity to develop the next evolution in Spanish viniculture.
Galea products are all-natural and harmoniously blended, boosting their appeal to sophisticated drinkers who appreciate organic, low alcohol, low sugar, gluten-free, vegan wines. Depending on the specific wine, Galea’s Sangria and Mimosas are crafted from organic Tempranillo, Merlot, Syrah, Xarel-lo, Macabeu, Parellada, or Bobal varieties.
