Maurice Bonnamy Rose Brut Crémant de Loire
WHY WE LOVE IT
- The clay-limestone terroir promotes perfect ripening and ageing in tufa-chalk cellars gives this Rosé its superb freshness, fruit, and character.
- Maurice Bonnamy Rosé Brut is made from grapes grown on selected plots to the south of Saumur. The soil and climate conditions in this area make Saumur an ideal place to grow Cabernet Franc.
Varietal Composition: 100% Cabernet Franc
Elaboration: Manual harvesting, gentle pressing and low-temperature fermentation (64°C) to preserve the aromas. Second fermentation in the bottle by the Traditionnal Method after selection of the best juices. Stored at least 12 months on racks in cellars made of chalk before disgorging to make uniquely fine bubbles.
Tasting Notes: Lovely pink color with brilliant highlights. Fine, persistent bead. Freshness and finesse: fine, lively bouquet with fresh, red-berry fruit aromas (wild strawberries and cherries). Lively initial impression on the palate and good aromatic intensity. Well-balanced on the palate, following through with a fresh, wonderfully subtle aftertaste.

PRODUCER BACKGROUND
Maurice Bonnamy’s Crémants are produced by a group of winegrowers who decided in 2002 to pool their resources in order to offer a complete range of authentic, well-balanced wines from Muscadet to Vouvray along the Loire River. The winegrowers are driven by the strong but simple values of the modern cooperative – solidarity, respect and creativity – values enhanced by a real team spirit, which enriches each stage of the wine production process. This group of 8 cooperative cellars, representing all the diversity of the terroirs and appellations of the Loire Valley. Wines from the Loire Valley, in general, are known for possessing great value, and Crémants in particular, are a fantastic alternative to the more expensive Champagne’s of the world.
