Nardello Soave Classico “Monte Zoppega”
WHY WE LOVE IT
- Cru Soave sourced from the volcanic slopes of Mount Zoppega
Varietal Composition: 100% Garganega
Elaboration: Soft pressing of the grapes, cold static decanting and beginning of alcoholic fermentation in steel tanks. In the middle of fermentation the wine is transferred in barriques, and the process continues in the wood. Malolactic fermentation in barriques takes place when necessary, then aging in wood for 6-7 months according to the features of that specific vintage.
Tasting Notes: Aromas of toasted oak, candied citrus, pressed white flower and vanilla lead the nose and follow through to the palate, along with nectarine zest and baked apricot. Enjoy soon to capture the remaining freshness and fruit.

PRODUCER BACKGROUND
The first traces of the Nardello family’s grape-growing activities in Soave trace back to the mid-1500’s. This history means an enviable collection of cru holdings within Soave Classico, situated between Mont Zoppega and Mount Tondo. In geographical terms, these two hills represent the extreme southern border of Soave’s original boundary.
Tasting through the Nardello lineup is an eye opening exercise in the effect of soil type on the personality of Garganega-based wines, as all of Soave’s distinct terroirs are separately represented in the company’s various bottlings.
