Ruby Vineyard Sparkling Rosé Waves

Ruby Vineyard “Waves” Sparkling Rosé

WHY WE LOVE IT

  • This wine is meant to be a fun, easy drinking sparkler filled with tart citrus flavors.
  • Overall a cooler vintage that led to one of the latest Harvests in modern Oregon history.

Varietal Composition: 55% Pinot Noir, 30% Pinot Gris, 10% Chardonnay, 5% Gamay Noir

Elaboration: The grapes are first whole cluster pressed and then fermented and aged in stainless steel. The wine undergoes a long, slow ferment then a dosage is added before bottling. The wine is then forced carbonated on the bottling line.

Tasting Notes: A crisp, dry sparkler with ripe strawberry and tart citrus flavors. Waves of fresh flavor and crisp effervescence will wash over you like a little ball of energy on a sea of love.

PRODUCER BACKGROUND

Hervé and Danielle Lescombes built their first winery in Chablis in the Burgundy region of France in 1967. In 1981, the family moved to the American Southwest, and by 1984 they had bottled their first vintage. The winery is located in the Mimbres Valley, just outside of Deming, New Mexico.

Now Florent and Emmanuel, representing the sixth generation of winemakers, are carrying on their family’s tradition. With 200 acres of vineyards located in the high desert of the Pyramid Valley, just outside Lordsburg, New Mexico, they found the ideal climate and soil to grow the best quality grapes. Their state-of-the-art winery produces more than 40 wines.

The Lescombes produce full-bodied, French oak-aged reds, crisp aromatic whites, and exquisite sparkling wines from more than 30 grape varieties, including Cantina Sangria.
