Ruby Wineyard Willamette Valley Pinot Noir
WHY WE LOVE IT
Varietal Composition: 100% Pinot Noir
Elaboration: Fermented using indigenous yeast allowing the wine to best express it’s place. Gentle extraction is utilized. All lots spend a minimum of 18 days of skin contact. The wine then stays ten months in mostly neutral French oak before bottling. Our Willamette Valley Pinot Noir is hand crafted and vinified employing the same methods as their other wines.
Tasting Notes: Vibrant and floral with loads of flavor highlighted by ripe cherry, red raspberry, fresh and dried flowers and a nice sprinkle of cracked pepper and spice. This wine has plenty of supporting structure, but feels fresh, smooth and silky on the bright, mouthwatering, finish. An outstanding bargain in all-purpose Willamette Valley Pinot Noir.
“Vibrant and generous, with floral cherry and cranberry flavors that zip along to a crisp, fresh finish. Drink now through 2027. 1,000 cases made.” 90 Points. Tim Fish, Wine Spectator

PRODUCER BACKGROUND
Ruby Vineyard is a small, vineyard and winery in the Chehalem Mountains of Oregon’s Willamette Valley region. It is owned by the Hendricks family and is located in the Laurelwood District AVA, just west of Portland.
The Hendricks family has deep roots in Oregon. In 1843, Steve Hendricks’ great-great-grandfather, Abijah Hendricks, arrived in Oregon on the first wagon train to brave the Oregon Trail. Abijah’s adventurist spirit lives on in Steve and his wife Flora. Sharing a dream of owning a vineyard and making wine, they have explored every aspect of the winemaking process, from driving a tractor to pouring for guests in the tasting room.
