PRODUCER BACKGROUND

The Tobias Glen Vineyard is a 19-acre estate located in one of the most cherished cool-climate micro-regions of the Russian River Valley AVA in Sonoma County, California. It was saved from being demolished and turned into a housing development when California Wineries & Vineyards (CWV), the parent company of Tobias Glen Vineyard, acquired it in 2015.

Our vineyard farming is conducted by Art Robledo, Jr., and his well-respected family, who have been tending Tobias Glen for more than a decade. Art believes it is important to be a good steward of the land by practicing environmentally friendly techniques and to treat each vine individually. Four acres are farmed, and the rest remains a conservation forest. The vineyard is certified sustainable.

A native of Burgundy, winemaker Stéphane Vivier applies his old-world sensibilities at several Napa, Sonoma, Russian River Valley, and Mendocino wineries. To Stéphane, the best winemaker is one who largely keeps his hands to himself, allowing nature to do what it does best.
