WHY WE LOVE IT
- Anciano Rioja Crianza comes from leading producer Criadores de Rioja located near Logroño, at the heart of Rioja Alta. The winery belongs to a family with one of the longest traditions in Rioja winemaking and their winemaker has access to some of the finest wines in the region.
- Crianza wines are aged for a minimum of 2 years with 1 year in oak barrels.

Varietal Composition: 100% Tempranillo
Elaboration: In central Rioja, the climate is a unique confluence of Continental, Mediterranean and Atlantic. Grapes are hand-harvested from mid-September from 100 ha of outstanding vineyards, including a selection of bush-trained vines with an average age of 20 years. Ripe grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks with the temperature controlled at 28°C. Following fermentation and several days maceration, the wine is aged in American oak barrels for 12 months. This results in the perfect balance of fruit and oak flavors.
Tasting Notes: Elegant, complex, well-structured, fresh and fruity. Classic Rioja style which is enjoyed in the many tapas bars of Logroño. Aromas of red fruits and vanilla with subtle hints of licorice and toffee. Silky and persistent finish with a touch of spice.

The winery belongs to a family with one of the longest traditions in Rioja winemaking and our winemaker has access to some of the finest wines in the region. Reserva wines are aged for a minimum of 3 years with at least 1 year in oak barrels and 6 months in bottle.
