Chateau Montaud Côtes de Provence Rosé
WHY WE LOVE IT
Varietal Composition: Grenache 50 %, Cinsault 40%, Syrah 5%, Tibouren 5%
Elaboration: The terroir is mainly composed of shale and sandstone, the domaine’s Permian soils are poor and thus require the wines to take root deeply. This allows them to benefit from the full characteristics of the land. The grapes flourish under the Mediterranean sun, which enables them to acquire their full flavor.
Tasting Notes: Lively and fleshy. Lightly acidulous with a hint of citrus and cherry. Owing to our soil which is rather schisty, the final remains frank with a mineral tinge.

PRODUCER BACKGROUND
Château Montaud is the home of Vignobles Francois Ravel. It is a family-owned winery founded in 1964. The beautiful vineyard is located within the Côtes de Provence AOC, the largest appellation in the Provence wine region of south-eastern France.
For three generations, the Ravel family has carried on the winemaking tradition which began with the Romans more than two thousand years ago. Over the centuries, castles appeared, then were destroyed and rebuilt several times. The current château, dating back to 1858, is situated on the site of an old Roman villa, the remains of which were found during a restructuring of the vineyard.
